Annie Cowan is a versatile and talented performer with an unusual comic touch.

She cut her teeth in television, film and theatre working with the likes of John Hurt in ‘A Prisoner in Time’, Alan Ayckbourn: playing the lead in his first musical and slapping Lenny Henry in the BBC's ‘Hope and Glory’.

Her first West End role was in ‘Blood Brothers’, which led to the world of comedy where she ran and performed in the club ‘A Cheeky Night In’.

Other comedy work includes a season at The Comedy Tank (Hen and Chickens and The Albany) The Comedy Café, The Cosmic, The Kings Head, Hampstead Comedy Club and The Enterprise.  She is currently developing a show of various characters, one of whom she debuted at the sell-out stand-up show 'Abnormally Funny people’ at the Soho theatre, London.

Drama includes guest appearances in award winning series such as ‘The Bill’, ‘Family Affairs and ‘Attachments’ (world productions).

She writes and directs short comedy films, most recently  ‘Lunch’ and ‘Wheelie Wonderland’.

Acclaimed for a voice that is both powerful and smokey, Annie’s repertoire, encompasses soul, blues, jazz and ballads injected with comic dust or soulful chill.
